We are an Interdenominational Ministry with a Pentecostal flavor, which ministers to all, enriching them with the knowledge and love of God. We believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, manifested through the person of Jesus Christ.  

True Praise Family Worship Center is a body of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who are “A People Of Worship, Perfecting Praise,” striving for excellence in Ministry, and giving a positive Christian Witness in the spirit of worship.

 At TPFWC, the uncompromising Word of God is preached with clarity and precision, to meet the needs of all who attend. Everyone is welcomed into our warm and friendly environment.

Praise

The Bible instructs us to praise in Psalm 67:3, “Let ALL the people praise thee.” Praise is regarded as appropriate, suitable, comely and of good taste. “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright” Psalm 33:1.

Many scriptures maintain that we should shout, cry out with loud praise in the congregation.

“I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee”, Psalm 22:22.

“Cry out and Shout thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.” Isaiah 12:6.

“That ye may with one mind and one Mouth glorify God…” Romans 15:6

Lifting of hands

Our congregation lifts its hands during worship to bless the Lord. “Lift up your hands in the Sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” Psalm 134:2

The lifting of hands is found throughout the Bible accompanying prayer. “Let my prayer be set before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.” Psalms 141:2. “I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting.” I Timothy 2:8.

Clapping of hands

Clapping of hands is our outward expression of many things, including joy, appreciation, thanks, and gratitude to God.

“O clap your hands, all ye people…” Psalm 47:1

“Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together” Psalm 98:8

Dancing

Dancing and leaping are forms of praise. “Let them praise his name in the dance…” Psalm 149:3.

These outward gestures are products of joy. For example, when the lame man was healed, he began “walking, and leaping, and praising God.” Acts 3:8

“Thou hast turned for me my wailing into dancing…” Psalm 30:11

Singing

Jesus said, “I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.” Hebrews 2:12

“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Psalm 100:2

“O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.” Psalm 96:1

Spiritual songs

Following the period of worship, individuals may sing a new song. This spontaneous occurrence is noted in Ephesians 5:19, “Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart unto the Lord.” These melodies are also found in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto the Lord."

Musical Instruments

Musical instruments were used in praise, worship and other sacred activities. The Levites were told by David to “appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding by lifting up the voice with joy.” I Chronicles 15:16

“And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. “And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.” 2 Chronicles 29: 27

“Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him with loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalm 150:1-6

Prophecy

Prophecy is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and can be intended for the church or an individual. It may reveal hidden things, declare his divine purposes and the councils of God, foretell events to come, or predict events relating to Christ’s Kingdom. In Corinthians, Apostle Paul listed prophecy as one of the “Gifts of the Spirit.” He states that prophecy is for “edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” Corinthians 14:3

I Corinthians 14:31 “For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.” Corinthians 14:31

Giving

Bringing our tithes and offerings are a form of our worship. “Give unto the Lord the glory due his Name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” I Chronicles 16:29

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that they may be meat in mine house…” Malachi 3:10

God is not only interested in are giving, but the way in which we present our gifts. “Every man according as he purposed in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity for God loveth a cheerful giver.” II Corinthians 9:7

The entire congregation comes to the front of the church, in the spirit of worship, and offers their gifts to the Lord. Jesus “sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury…” Mark 12:41

Salvation

“Saved” and “born again,” both mean having had the experience of Salvation.

Nicodemus was told by Jesus, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 God created us with a purpose and plan for our lives. In fact, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” He not only purposed us to have eternal life, but also have a life full of meaning here on earth. “I came that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

The fall of Adam separated man from God and this spiritual separation leads to death. (Genesis 3)

“…the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

God mended the separation between man and himself, through his son, Jesus Christ, “who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.” Roman 4:25 Although man was separated, God commended “his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

“…I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6

To be born again or saved, we must receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus desires to reach everyone, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 For those who answer, he gives the authority and power to become the children of God. (John 1:12) When you are saved, you will know by the Spirit Himself who “beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Romans 8:16

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is an experience that occurs only after one has been born again. The Holy Ghost is given to the believer for guidance, comfort, and power.

Jesus said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” Mark 16:17 Speaking with new tongues is a product of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. In fact, when a person received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in the New Testament Church, the experience was always accompanied by speaking in tongues. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4

“And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.” Acts 10:45, 47

Water Baptism

Before baptism, a person must repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:16

“Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you...” Acts 2:38

We are baptized into the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

“Buried with him in baptism, where in also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.” Col. 2:12

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Rom. 6:3-4

We baptize by full immersion in water. Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan, and came “up out of the water...” Mark 1:9-10

We baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus commanded baptism to be in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19) These are titles, not names. The New Testament church understood and applied the names to the titles. The name of the Father is Lord, the Son is Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is Christ.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36

“And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Act 19: 3-5
